Terry L. McCutcheon
Terry McCutcheon is a partner and co-owner of McCutcheon Joseph, PLLC with Terry Joseph. Ms. McCutcheon is a USPTO registered attorney, and she leads the firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) Prosecution Department, encompassing all aspects of intellectual property law, including the preparation and negotiation of IP license, confidentiality, distribution and other contractual agreements, and the preparation and prosecution of patents and trademarks, third party submissions, re-examinations, inter partes reviews, and other aspects practiced within the United States and internationally.
Ms. McCutcheon is broadly experienced in national and foreign patent filings, including applications related to oil field and off shore technologies and medical devices and procedures. Her significant IP litigation experience, focused on the enforcement of patents and trademarks, enables Ms. McCutcheon to provide reliable counseling on validity, patentability, infringement, licensing and technology transfer, trade secret protection and joint development agreements.
Ms. McCutcheon’s patent prosecution practice began while employed as the Assistant Vice President to the Executive Vice President of the world-renowned UT M.D. Anderson Cancer Center (UTMDACC), which included the formation of the President’s IP Review Board; establishment of various IP offices for IP discovery, prosecution, and commercialization; and the development of start-up companies for fostering the patent technology of UTMDACC. As part of her current IP practice, Ms. McCutcheon provides strategic guidance and IP portfolio development to several large multi-million dollar corporations.
